Women United Award

We couldn't be happier to share with you that our Executive Director, Lisa Guillette, is this year's recipient of the Women United Award from the United Way of Rhode Island. Lisa was one of four individuals honored last week in the United Way's virtual Annual Celebration event.

Women United Awardees are recognized for their inspiring nature, their tenacity to drive for positive change, and for their demonstrated leadership within their communities. And if you've ever met Lisa, you know that this is an accurate description of her, particularly when serving foster youth and families.

In Lisa's own words:

"I’m really proud to be a member of Women United and passionately support our work promoting children’s literacy. Third grade reading success is a leading indicator that a child will successfully complete high school and strongly aligns with the work we do at Foster Forward to ensure that foster youth complete high school.

It is humbling to be recognized among such a distinguished group of women who are all equally passionate and engaged in supporting our Rhode Island community.  This honor is a reflection of the opportunities I have been blessed with, as a result of the many sacrifices and abundant ways that my mom poured all of her love into raising me."
